The Foxes are an London based English Rock and Indie group formed in 2006. They have toured the UK and USA,[citation needed] playing at venues such as the O2 Arena[citation needed] in London, and have entered the UK Indie Singles Chart twice. They have been featured in music magazines and newspapers such as NME[citation needed] and interviewed on radio and television in the UK and USA.[citation needed]

thumb|right|162px|The Foxes Logo In the summer of 2003 Nigel Thomas, at the time a mental health professional, and Alex Douglas formed the acoustic duo 'Rush Hour Soul' in Exeter, Devon. They relocated to London and with the addition of two band members and a name change to "The Foxes" - a name which "felt right, was memorable and had bite"[citation needed] - the current line-up was formed: Thomas (lead vocals, rhythm guitar), Jonathan Bretman (lead guitar), Douglas (bass, backing vocals) and Stephen Wilde (drums). Thomas writes the music and lyrics and the band work without a press agent or manager.

The Foxes critically acclaimed[1][2] 'Lover, Killer' EP was released in August 2007 and sold in CD format.

In 2008, the band formed their own record label 'Room 10 Records'. The name originates from the room the band used for rehearsal at Survival Studios in North London.[3]

The first release on the new label was the début Single 'Trauma Town' on 20 October 2008, which was sold in limited edition vinyl format and digital download. It reached number 9 in the Official UK Indie chart.[citation needed]

On 16 March 2009 the single 'Bill Hicks' (based on the famous comedian) was released on CD, vinyl and digital download and reached number 6 on the Official UK Indie chart.[4]

On 3 August 2009 they released a remake of 'Lover, Killer' as a single on CD, vinyl and digital download, along with a video created by Nigel Thomas' brother.

Present edit

The band are working with John Cornfield[5] (producer) and John Davis (mixer) at Sawmills Studios in Cornwall on their new EP 'Depression, Joy and Moment of Fame'[6].

They plan to continue working with Cornfield later this year to produce their first full-length album.[7]

Tours and appearances edit

Prior to their first performance, Thomas said "We’re really excited about the Wirral date, because it’s nice to be playing at a venue that isn’t a clichéd place." [8]

The Foxes have played in various venues across the country and have additionally toured the US and UK on multiple occasions, one such with Yeti. Additionally, they have played in the O2 Arena[citation needed], supporting various bands such as The Magic Numbers.

The Foxes have been cited as having: "the talent and confidence to make a huge impact on the UK music scene" by NME[citation needed]

With their recent the band have attracted attention from record companies and websites and influential figures, such as Chris Welch, NME, Ents24 and Sony BMG.[9] The group have also received interest from, and met with, KT Tunstall[citation needed] and Richie Havens.[citation needed]
