Nanjing Xi road (Bubbling Well Road) is road runs between shanghai Jingan Ditrict and Huangpu Disctrit, the orgnial name of the raod is Jingan temple Road, and change to corrent name in 1945, and it is commercial road for high end fashion products in the republican era.

This road is build in 1860s by Shanghai International Settlement Authority. after 1900 incident, the China-foreign relationship improved, and the investment from western country increased. between 1900 and out break of first world war, the employees of foreign company (mainly British) build its large British style garden homes. along this street.
During the 1920 and 1930s, the low intensive houses replaced by flats and the population increased, there are lots of shops opened along the road. and it is famous for its high end pubs, cinemas, cafes. dancing clubs and high end fashion cloth shop.
During 1930-1940 Sino-Japanese war, the shanghai was heavily damaged except the International Settlement and population crowned into the settlement. makes the road more prosperity than before. after the outbreak of pacific war in 1941, the Japanese occupied the Shanghai International Settlement and end this prosperity. the Chinese government take control the Shanghai International Settlement in 1945 and change the name to Nanjing Xi road.
Current situation edit
The Nanjing Xi Road still keep the 20 metre width of the International Settlement era, only part of the road was widen for Sino-Soviet friendship building in 1954, and the colour pendestration was added in 1984
