Aboubacar Sylla, born May 12, 1953 in Pita (Middle Guinea), is a Guinean politician, mining engineer, civil administrator and former Minister of State for Transport[1],[2].

Professional Career edit
Born in Pita, Aboubacar Sylla went to school at the Institut international d’administration publique (HAP) in Paris (France).
Aboubacar Sylla has held numerous posts in Guinean civil service from 1981 until the present[3].
Public Sector edit
From 1981 to 1986, he was chef de division des matériaux de construction au ministère de l’Industrie and cumulativement directeur du projet de la cimenterie de Souguéta.
From 1986 to 1988, he was Technical Advisor to the Minister of Human Resources, Industry and Small and medium-sized enterprises.
From 1988 to 1990, he was Secretary General of the Ministry of Industry, Trade and Handicrafts.
From 1990 to 1991, he was Secretary General of the Ministry of Information, Culture Tourism, and then Secretary General of the Ministry of Communication between 1991 and 1992. From 1996 to 1999, he was Economic Advisor of the Prime Minister.
Aboubacar Sylla has also held several other positions from 1987 to 1990, notably Chairman of the Board of several companies including: SOMIAG (Société de Minage et d’Agrégats de Guinée) from 1987 to 1989, SALGUIDIA (Société arabe libyo-guinéenne pour le développement industriel et agricole) from 1988 to 1990, and l’UGAR (Union guinéenne d’assurance et de réassurance) from 1989 to 1995.
As Minister edit
Between May and December 2006, he became Minister of Information, then Minister of Communication, and spokesman of the government between February and December 2010.
He was Ministrr of State for Transport from 26 May, 2018 in the government of dr. Ibrahima Kassory Fofana until the fall from power on 5 September 2021.
Private Sector edit
He is the founder and General Administrator of the Guinean media company (l’imprimerie du sud, l’indépendant, l’indépendant plus, le démocrate, le républicain) from 1992 to 1996, and also the founder of the School complex Sylla Lamine composed of three educational institutions in 1999 in Conakry.
Political Career edit
President of the political party union des Forces du Changement (UFC) since 2009[4] and spokesman of the alliance pour le développement et le progrès (ADP), the republican opposition and the alliance for l’alternance démocratique between 2011 and 2015.
