Early life

Pandit Vishwanath was born in a family of renowned musicians of Meerut, along with his academic carrier he devoted himself towards achieving new heights in the field of Hindustani classical vocal music, representing the well known Kirana Gharana.

Pandit Vishwanath’s forte is not only khayal but also thumri, Dadra, Bhajan & Ghazal.

Pandit Vishwanath started his sangeet sadhana at a very young age under the tutelage of his father the Late Shri. Om Prakash Ji and elder brother the Late Pandit Jagannath Ji the renowned shehnai vadak. He also learned from the Late Saarangi Nawaz, Ustaad Banne Khan’s son, and Ustad Altaf Hussein Khan sahib later on he had fortune of learning from Pt. Mani Prasad Ji, under the Guru Shishya Parampra.

Pandit Vishwanath has performed at many prestigious conferences in India and abroad and received rave reviews.

Pandit Vishwanath has imbided his Brother, Pt. Jagannath ji’s highly colourful imaginative style of rendering Raga’s in the gayaki ang/ style and Banarsi Dhune/ Thumri/ Chaiti/ Kajri & spl. In Tappa.

He was awarded the title of “Sur-Mani” at swami Haridas Sangeet Sammelan, Bombay, Sangeet Shilpi, Sangeet Shiromani, Sangeet Martand, Sangeet Sarang etc. He was the recipient of govt. of India scholarship for excellence in Hindustani classical vocal music.
