Claudia Cobizev (b. march 13 1905, Chișinău - d. 1995, Chișinău) was a sculptor and a painter from Republic of Moldova.

Biography edit

Claudia Cobizev was born on march 13 1905 in Chișinău. She studied sculpture at the Chisinau School of Arts in the Alexandru Plămădeală's workshop (1926-1931), then at the Royal Academy of Arts in Brussels, in the workshop of V. Rousseau and Rimbaud in Brussels (1931-1934) and at the Academy of Arts in Bucharest (1934-1936).

For her artistic activity, she was awarded with the titles of Emeritus of Art in the MSSR (1960) and of the Plastic Artist of the People in the MSSR (1965), being the winner of the State Prize of the MSSR (1968). She was decorated with the Order of "Badge of Honor" (1947) and with the Order "Red Flag of Work" (1957). Claudia Cobizev died in 1995 in Chișinău.
