Research Interests:
My research is centered around the experiences of professional women living with a chronic illness, such as lupus or rheumatoid arthritis. I am interested in their life courses following the onset of their illness, along with their changing and continuous sense of selves or identities. Following the methodology of early identity inquires that produced many of the models we still use today, I explore these issues within the qualitative paradigm of social science inquiry.
As a qualitative methodologist, I also explore avenues for qualitative approaches to bring new insights to the processes of human development.
