Hazel's Lumps commenced as a WP editor in January 2013. Hazel's Lumps is neither her real name, nor anything like it.
Hazel's Lumps' background includes international travel to several regions of the world, a somewhat wide range of employment (in government and private industries) and similarly various other activities. With all of that, Hazel's Lumps still found time to be one parent several times over (the other parent being Him, naturally).

Previously, HL had used Wikipedia occasionally as a part of her own research into various recreational and funded activities (hah, this means you, Lads'n'Lasses from Uncle!).
She felt she could make a worthwhile contribution, especially as she has generally been compelled by higher forces (who pay her money and give her stuff) to do research and be neutral and objective (but not to play a Hammond).
After a period of absence from WP, being involved with other projects that took up her time, she returned to discover some support, which was refreshing.
However, some editors - no names, no blames - seem intent on using their own prejudices and POV when editing articles in order to shape the opinions of those who use WP only as a source. She saw it chiefly working against the works of others. It didn't happen very much to her own work. But she wasn't angry.
In three words: frustrated and disappointed.
Frustrated to approach a problem with as balanced a view as can be mustered, and see others enforce dis-balance so readily for their own ends.
Disappointed to see what could be a platform for people to actually get a view of the way things really are turn out riddled with failure because of the above. Perhaps that is the way things really are? No, she knows how things are. It was the hope that they would be different that hurt.
Because HL has neither the time nor the inclination to suffer assholes and idiots, when she is still paid to spend her time in areas where most people work to a common goal, she put her editing on hold for the foreseeable future.
To those who offered HL kind words, she offers her gratitude.
