HappyJake is an alias I've used since the late 1980s. The name started (and continues to this day) as a generic term for low-quality discount merchandise. For example, I might refer to a small, seedy-looking, used-car dealership as "Happy Jake's Used Cars & Bait Shoppe." I've used the alias online only recently (since 2005) as I have only recently needed an online alias.
Areas of Interest edit
I have a wide variety of interests vis a vis Wikipedia. Many of them deal with popular culture, such as the Star Trek or Star Wars franchises. I am also a sports fan, NFL Football in particular, and I have contributed to the NFL Records articles among others.
For editing, I mostly notice factual or wording errors or omissions, and will rarely attempt to include any new information.

I live in the Washington, DC area on the Virginia side of the river and have for most of my life. I am a veteran of the US Air Force having served a number of years in the US Air Force Reserve. I have a Bachelor's degree in Business with an emphasis on Information Systems from the University of Phoenix.
