Hello. I am the entity known as "haineux." Although I am a real person, I choose not to associate my name with this entity, because I work for a company that cares a bit too deeply what its employees say to "the public." If my company's lawyers were to decide that my contributions here were "speaking to the public," I might get into trouble, so I have elected to keep things separated.

If you were a detective, you could probably figure out who "haineux" is. I am asking you not to publicize this information, because in that way, it's easier for me to continue to do what I like. Thank you.

As for my wiki contributions, I have created a handful of articles, writing them entirely from scratch, and edited practically none. I am what Aaron Swartz calls a "drive by contributor." I am not interested in the politics of the "elite" wiki people. Indeed, I find such people tedious and annoying. I feel that these people have removed valuable information that I have contributed, and needlessly changed words that I wrote to boost their own edit scores, or their egos.

There's an old saying, "the smaller the pay, the bigger the politics" that explains how volunteer organizations are overrun by highly political individuals who drive away less-political contributors. I have seen this happen again and again in my life, and I believe I am witnessing it right now in this forum.

Best of luck. I might someday, in the future, "drive by" some entries again, but I have zero expectations that any of this content will actually be retained unmolested.

Perhaps instead I shall write it as graffiti on the side of a bus. Maybe some citizen will get some kind of award for washing it off.
