MUSCLE CAR: refers to a automobile that is engineered and marketed as a high performance vehicle. It is usually race bred, meaning that it is a race-modified version of and/or based on a roadgoing production car. The main purpose of a muscle car is to produce a strong and fast street machine, which is achieved by adding a powerful engine into a usually compact bodyshell in order to achieve a relatively high power/weight ratio, combined with rear wheel drive and lots of badges/decals.
