The Stephen and Catherine Pappas Patristic Institute of Holy Cross Greek Orthodox School of Theology was founded in 2003 for "the advancement and promotion of primarily Greek patristic studies in the service of the academy and of the Church.[1] The current director is Dr.Bruce Beck.
The institute focuses on three major annual programs:
- A graduate student conference, typically held in May, where students have the opportunity to both present and critique papers in a peer environment.
- A summer program, which focuses on a seminar style of learning the Greek Fathers led by scholars in the field.
- An academic conference, held in the fall, in which patristic scholars present. The proceedings from two of these conferences are now in print.
