Musical Background and Outlook edit

I began formal musical training when I was 12 years old, though I had been in contact with music from much earlier. My school’s children’s choir was the space where I began my exploration as a performer. I took recorder lessons to complement choir practice and when the time came to choose an instrument to begin formal lessons, the path seemed obvious. The flute felt like a natural progression from the recorder. I spent eight years studying the fundamentals of music theory and classical technique in the local music academy, performing major works from the standard flute repertoire. In 2013, I moved to Boston, Massachusetts, to pursue a professional career in music at Berklee College of Music. After arriving in Boston, I explored new approaches to musical interpretation and became acquainted with several genres and styles ranging from Latin to Jazz. I still remain passionate about classical music and actively perform as a soloist, chamber and orchestral musician.

I am currently in my senior year and expect to graduate in the spring of 2017.
