- AFFIDAVIT re 854 Unopposed MOTION for Extension of Time to File Authorization on behalf of Petitioner Tariq Ali Abdullah Ba Odah (Declaration of Siham Nurhussein In Support) by GUANTANAMO BAY DETAINEE LITIGATION. (Symon, Julia)[1]
- On 29 October 2008 Julia Symon filed a "Declaration of Siham Nurhussein in support of unopposed motion for extenstion of time to file authorization" with regard to Tariq Ali Abdullah Ba Odah (ISN 178) in Civil Action No. 06-CV-01668 (HHK).[2]
- Siham Hurhussein is an attorney at CLifford Chance.[2] His affidavit stated that Tariq Ba Odah had a DTA appeal filed on his behalf in 2007. His affidavit stated that the Bush administration didn't file a factual return until April 2008. He stated that Ba Odah was one of small number of remaining hunger strikers from the widespread hunger strike that started in June 2005; and that he reported punishment beatings from the guards in response; that he appeared dazed, and suffered memory problems. Hurhussein wrote that the limited number of meetings the Clifford Chance attorney had with Ba Odah had not been enough to win his trust, and he appealed for more time to get Ba Odah's authorization to act on his behalf.
