Wilhering is a municipality in the district Linz-Land in Upper Austria, Austria. Their slogan is culture and life and for culture they have Cistercian Abbey and the Rococo church, for life they have the nature and woods that are around Wilhering. The Cisterican Abbey was established in the 1146 and was then rebuilt after it had been burnt down. It contains sketches and paintings by Austrian Baroque painters. The church has Rococo interior which is one of the best examples of this style in Austria. [2]

The mayor of the city is called Mario Mühlböck and is from the party SPÖ which stands for the social democratic party of Austria (Sozialdemkratische Partei Österreich)and is the leading party in Wilhering. He is responseable for the district waste association, social welfare assistance federation Linz-Land, chairman of the committee for social things, health matters, elderly affairs and integration matters. He is also a representative of the community Reihn control association Gumpoldingerbach and Donautal and the Wegeer control association Eisenwurzen. [3]

Health is a thing that the representatives in Wilhering care about. Wilhering is very engaged in the national action "Healthy Community". Every year there are many activities and presentations about the theme health. [4]

Education and Schools edit

Wilhering has a education and child care facility. there are three elementary schools in the towns Dörnbach, Schönering and Wilhering and has also a middle school until eighth grade. The Stifter High School is a private school in Wilhering. they also have two kindergardens and a place were children can stay after school until fourth grade and they get help with their homework. Public Transport edit

There are just a few municipalities with size of Wilhering that have their own public transport. they have a bus comapny that cover the entire municipality it is called WILIA. In 1930 they were allowed to have their own public transport and modernized it with the newest techniques. [6]
