House of Shavliani (Georgian: შავლიანის სამეფო) After the death of Giorgi I, his wife wanted to take the throne. The Bagrationi Dynasty took the throne instead, so the wife of Giorgi I took Giorgi's army and exiled the Bagrationi Dynasty and threw Bagrat I of Abkhazia out of the kingdom. Later on, her father Adarnase of Abkhazia took the throne instead. After his death, John Shavliani took his father's throne and ruled the kingdom for another 18 years. The Bagrationi Dynasty invaded the kingdom, forcing the people under the surname Shavliani to flee to Racha-Lechkhumi and Kvemo Svaneti where they changed their surnames to: Shavladze, Shavlayadze, and Shavlidze.
