Mike Friedrichsen (born June 24, 1960 in Eckernförde) is a German university lecturer in business informatics and digital media and works at the German University of Digital Science.

Mike Friedrichsen studied economics (Dipl., 1991) and business administration qith focus on informatics, journalism and political science (M.A., 1990) in Kiel, Mainz and Berlin.[1] From 1990 to 1996, he was a research assistant at the Institute for Journalism Studies at the Free University of Berlin (empirical communication research department). In 1996, he received his doctorate from the Free University of Berlin.

In 1999, Friedrichsen was appointed Professor of Media Economics, Media Management and Media Research at Stuttgart Media University.[2] From 2003 to 2007, he worked as Professor of Media Management and Marketing at the International Institute of Management at the University of Flensburg. From 2007 to 2024, he was back at Stuttgart Media University as Professor of Information Systems and Digital Media. Since 2024, he has been the founding president of the German University of Digital Science together with Prof. Dr. Christoph Meinel.
