Recall edit

This page is a record of a recall petition, (see Category:Administrators open to recall and the talk, as well as references below) concerning Friday (talk · contribs · blocks · protections · deletions · page moves · rights · RfA). Remember that recall is a voluntary process, that it does not have the force of policy, and that this page is in Friday's user space, to show that Friday ultimately controls the process. If not satisfactory to the community, the other, more formal recourses offered by dispute resolution are always available.

Friday has asked me (Lar (talk · contribs · blocks · protections · deletions · page moves · rights · RfA)) to clerk this petition formally.

Friday has decided that if there are 6 valid requests to be recalled (using the standard definition given in Category:Administrators open to recall, over 500 mainspace (or at least non userspace) edits and over one month of tenure) that Friday will honor the petition.

The nature of how the recall will be honored (RfC, re RfA, etc) was not specified. This section has been edited (by Lar or Friday) to clarify these items. Editing of this section by others is subject to reversion as disruptive of this voluntary and informal process.

Discussion edit

Discussion of petitioners, submissions, etc, is taking place on Friday's talk page. Please keep discussion there.

Note the following:

  • Soccerguy1039 and Loomis51 both have fewer than two dozen mainspace edits.
  • Tragic romance and Ilikefood both have fewer than 500 mainspace edits
  • Light current is in poor standing in the community, with multiple blocks for incivility and disruption

So noted (I was already aware of this, thanks!) but the number of blocks for disruption is not part of the "standard criteria" being used. See specific analysis of contributions below. ++Lar: t/c 23:59, 29 December 2006 (UTC)

Tally edit

The following section is a tally of those who have asked for recall and who Friday acknowledges as qualified to so ask.

Only submissions are counted, and then only if Friday does not say "I don't accept this one" or words to that effect. Those voicing support or opposing recall, etc. are not counted here. I base my putting people on this list on the discussion on User talk:Friday, on the talk for this page, on User:Friday/recall, and on private comunication with Friday. I copied the bare user link and put it in an informational template, and the date, from the posting.

Note: done using User:Interiot's "wannabe kate" tool for ones that are pretty clear cut or a log analysis for others if there was a concern about undercounting)

As I've been asked to clerk, I'd appreciate others not modifying this sub section. If anyone spots errors please let me know. ++Lar: t/c 16:32, 28 December 2006 (UTC)

End time edit

The end date/time of this recall petition will be 22:05, 28 December 2006 (UTC), 5 days from the clarified request for recall 22:05, 23 December 2006 (UTC)), per request of Friday. This time has already passed so this is a historical analysis at this point. ++Lar: t/c 23:21, 29 December 2006 (UTC)

Final result edit

There were 7 petitioners prior to the deadline established above.

Based on my analysis of the petitioner's history and contributions to various spaces, and after applying the "in good standing" criteria of 500 mainspace edits and 1 month presence on wiki as given above, I find (as given above):

  • 3 petitioners are "in good standing"
  • 2 clearly NOT in good standing
  • 2 petitioners that are, under strict interpretation of the criteria also NOT in good standing, which I have put in "unknown state" since they have significant contribution histories.

However, even under the most liberal interpretation, using total edits, so as to include both the "unknown state" and "in good standing" the petition lacks the 6 petitioners necessary to be certified.

Therefore I adjudge this petition to have failed. Friday is not subject to voluntary recall as a result of this petition, and the petitioners should pursue other means of dispute resolution. Please advise of any questions or concerns. ++Lar: t/c 23:59, 29 December 2006 (UTC)

Comments edit

  • Thank you to Lar for clerking impartially and to Friday for fairness in handling this matter. -THB 01:45, 30 December 2006 (UTC)
  • Lar's clerking has been fair to a fault and the entire process has been well handled by all involved (except for Aaron who's caption made me pee). --hydnjo talk 23:06, 30 December 2006 (UTC)
