Thuraya Ismail (born 1979)is a Saudi human and social development expert[1], art advocate, and Eisenhower fellow.[2] She is holds an MSc in International Relations from the London School of Economics (LSE), and a BA in Political Studies from the American University of Beirut (AUB).[3][1]
Career
editIsmail has professional experience in strategic planning, management, partnership building, fundraising, and advocacy in the Middle East and the international levels. She is the Executive Director of Mentor Arabia, a foundation she has worked [for since what year.][3]
Ismail is a strong advocate for using art as a means for empowerment. She is a jury member of the Short Film and Music Youth Awareness Competition of the Plural + Youth Video Festival on migration, diversity & social inclusion organized by the IOM and UNAOC [add what they are and in what year].[4] and of the Youth Social Entrepreneurs Award, gathering more than 1000 participants and reaching more than 3 million people.[5]
Ismail was appointed Ambassador of the El Gouna Film Festival for Humanity,[6] was head of the short films Jury for the Beirut International Women Film Festival,[4] and was selected as one of the top 25 world women leaders to join the Eisenhower Fellowship and become part of this network advocating for peace around the world.[2] She is also a Board Member of the Takreem Awards, honoring Arab accomplishments.[1] [ in what]
Ismail also has experience in working with international organizations such as UNDP as well as governmental and non-governmental entities. She is the first Arab citizen to win the Leading Practitioner Honor award from the European Union Society for Research.[7]
