The World Muslim Congress (Motamar Al-Alam Al-Islami) (WMC) is a group which works to promote solidarity and cooperation among the global Islamic community.

It was founded in 1926 by Muslim Leards and held its first session in Mecca. Its second session was held in Jerusalem in 1931, where its rules and constitution were formed under the leadership of its first president, Alhaj Aminul Hussaini, the Grand Mufti of Palestine.[1]

The WMC saw a revival in 1947, when Pakistan became independent from the British empire and became a Muslim-majority state. It held a World Muslim Conference in Karachi, Pakistan in 1949, with Liaquat Ali Khan, Pakistan's first prime minister, as its keynote speaker. In 1951, it held a larger conference in Karachi, in which Karachi was established as the WMC saw headquarters and Alhaj Aminul Hussaini, the Grand Mufti of Palestine, established as its president.[1]

The World Muslim Congress held more conferences between 1959 and 1999, with the goal of promoting mutual cooperation in the Islamic community.

On April 15 2009, the WMC saw announced that it intends to build a modern hospital and contruct safe water and road projects in Ethiopia.[2]
