History

edit

This route started on the 28 May 2023 as partial replacement for the 30 from Musselburgh to Stoneybank and the 49 from the Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh to Rosewell. The first two buses to ever run on this service was 181 and 178, both Volvo B7RLE Eclipse 2. This route also implemented a school service running once a day in each direction from Rosewell to Lasswade High School in the morning and back in the afternoon, served by double decker buses to increase capacity. As this route ran under the Newcraighall train bridge, it could only be served by a single decker bus.
