Hi!

My name is Peter. I’m a 16 year old living in East Gippsland, Victoria, Australia.

I had been using Wikipedia as a reference source for ages, but it wasn't until September 2004 that I started actually contributing to Wikipedia.

My Talents edit

I’m lucky in that I have academic skills as well as athletic talents. I’m currently doing Year 10, but have taken on two VCE subjects (Maths Methods and Chemistry) which I’m enjoying and doing well in. I have also won several trophies, and am the reigning athletic champion in my age group (which doesn’t say all that much because in the whole of our secondary college there are only 60 kids – 7 in my class).

I am skilled in flash animation and am hoping that Wikipedia will soon allow users to upload in this versatile format, and get rid of the obsolete animated gif format.

My Camera edit

I have finally got a proper camera (the mighty Canon 20D coupled with a decent Tamron SP AF 28-75mm F/2.8 XR Di lens).

A year ago (as my userpage used to say) I had no intention whatsoever to become a professional photographer, but last December (2004) I won a $1000 grant to start a photographic business. So, although I still plan to do something else in life (I plan to go to Uni and study for something) I am, for now, trying to sell prints. So my contributions to Wikipedia should have a marked improvement in quality, but due to my slow internet connection the image size will probably only increase to 1600 pixels wide by whatever the aspect ratio high.

A friend of mine, John O'Neill (my IT teacher) supports Wikipedia, but doesn't have time to contribute. So instead of letting some great shot (which he has released under the GFDL) go to waste, I prepare, upload and find a home for his photos.
