The Golden Nymphs are the prizes rewarding the winners of the Official Competition of the Festival de Télévision de Monte-Carlo.

History edit

The Festival de Télévision de Monte-Carlo was created in 1961 by Prince Rainier III of Monaco, willing to “encourage a new art form, in the service of peace and understanding between men”.

The Golden Nymphs are the prizes rewarding the winners of the Official Competition. The statuettes are copies of the Salmacis Nymph created by Monaco sculptor, Francois Joseph Bosio, “King’s Senior Sculptor” to Louis XVIII, the original of which is still exhibited at the Louvre Museum in Paris.

The Festival de Télévision de Monte-Carlo closes with the glittering Golden Nymph Award Ceremony.
