Mweshipandeka High School is one of the best school in Ongwediva, Oshana region, northern part of Namibia. It is one of the well known schools in the country, located in the centre of Ongwediva, in Libretina Amadhila street, closer to Kleinkup Private School and opposite International University of Management (northern part of Namibia) IUM. The school was founded in 1984, during the time when Namibia was still under the colonial rule of South Africa. The main aim for founding the school was to cut down the distance used to travelled by the home town's (Ongwediva and Oshakati) learners to Odimbo and other good schools in the country by that time.[1]

History

As i stated it previously, Mweshipandeka high school was founded in the year 1984, by the Ongwediva town council (1984). For them to respect traditions and custom, the decided to name the school after the man who used to live at that location Mr Mweshipandeka Ashipala. During the time when the school was created Ongwediva was just a small upcoming towm with counterable buildings.

Educational backgroud

Mweshipandeka High school is one of the best performing school in Oshana region. It have a great record of winning award in most of the High and Ordinary level subjects. Compared to other schools in Oshakati and Ongwediva, this school always send out many learners to all the universities in the country. On the other hand, the school is not just known for its educational level in the country but also because it have a strong Soccer team, which always win trophies at school's soccer tournaments in the country.
