Park named after Lazar Globa (until 1858 - the Ekaterinoslav State Garden, until the 1920s - divided into two: the City Garden and the Technical Garden, in the 1930s - the M. Khataevich Park, in 1939-1991 - Chkalov Park) is the central park of the city of Dnepr, one of its attractions.

Founded at the end of the 18th century. on the plot owned by the Zaporizhzhian captain Lazar Globa.

In the first half of the 19th century. - one of the two main green areas of Ekaterinoslav.

The head gardener of the State Garden from 1807 to 1848 was the outstanding specialist Adam Hummel (German by birth).

In the second half of the 19th - early 20th centuries. - the main recreation center for Yekaterinoslav residents, a venue for various rallies and meetings.

In Soviet times, it was turned into a “park of culture and recreation”, named after the famous pilot V.P. Chkalov, to whom a monument was erected on the territory of the park.

General information

There are always attractions, a children's ring railway (May-September), and a karting center located in the western part of the park.

In mid-December, the main New Year's tree in Dnipro is installed in the eastern part of the park.

There is a vast lake in the center of the park.

The current address is Dmitry Yavornitsky Avenue, 95.

On April 24, 2010, for Earth Day, residents of Dnipro planted a new green alley 80 meters long in the park with their own hands.
