Dr. Escher is a recipient of the AMA Foundation Leadership Award for, "outstanding leadership in medicine and community affairs." He received the Young Alumnus Achievement Award from Kansas City University of Medicine & Biosciences, He is a Fellow of the American Osteopathic College of Anesthesiologists, the Federation of State Medical Boards, and the American Association of Osteopathic Examiners. He currently serves on the Board of Governors for the American Osteopathic College of Anesthesiology. Dr. Escher served on the Board of Osteopathic Medicine under Florida Governors Crist and Scott. He has lectured nationally and internationally on pain management, anesthesiology, maintenance of licensure, and board certification. In multiple media appearances, he remains a strong advocate for public health and safety. He is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Oncologic Sciences at the University of South Florida. His clinical interests are oncology, the use of ultrasound-guided regional anesthesia, pain management, and public health. His research interests are oncology and anesthesiology, public health and safety, medical ethics, and the preservation of medical history.
