I realize that you're upset about how your RfA went, but that's not an excuse for calling everyone you dislike a cocksucker.[1]

If you want to prove everyone wrong about your RfA, knock it off, otherwise you're just justifying their statements. EVula // talk // // 13:51, 3 September 2008 (UTC)

Upset?? Shit! I'm pleased as punch at how my RfA went! And I don't have to prove anything to anyone - including you. Cause I y'am who y'am and that's all that I y'am. --Endlessdan 14:00, 3 September 2008 (UTC)
Um.. okay. Regardless, just stop calling people cocksuckers. EVula // talk // // 14:49, 3 September 2008 (UTC)
Aye-aye, cccaptain. --Endlessdan and his problem 14:58, 3 September 2008 (UTC)
...and it was just pointed out to me that I was getting you confused with someone else (hence, my talk about RfAs). Sorry for the confusion. EVula // talk // // 15:31, 3 September 2008 (UTC)
Ah. That makes sense cause my RfA was the balls. No harm, no foul. --Endlessdan and his problem 15:34, 3 September 2008 (UTC)
I just replied to your "personal attack" on EVula's talkpage. :-). And nice game last night. It's a very good thing that the 'skins don't have their act together yet. 16pts, no TD passes, an interception...ain't gonna win many games like that with everyone gunnin' for ya. But still, a good division win....Monday night, Rodger's dodgers v helmless hopeless halfwits...don't miss it! Keeper ǀ 76 15:45, 5 September 2008 (UTC)

Image question

I just asked an image expert your image question. Giggy plays it straight. I am clueless about a tremendous amount of things, including but not limited to, images. Unrelated, I think I'm going to not cheer for the Vikings this year. More later. Keeper ǀ 76 15:33, 3 September 2008 (UTC)

Motto of the day

Hello, I notice you're using one of the {{motd}} templates, run by Wikipedia:Motto of the day. You may have noticed that some of the mottos recently have been followed by a date from 2006, or on occasion simply "Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia". The reason for this is that Motto of the day is in some very serious need of help. Participation in the project, which has never been especially high, has dropped considerably over this past summer, to the point we have had several days where no motto was scheduled to appear at all. Over the past several weeks, I've been the only editor scheduling mottos at all, but there aren't enough comments on some of these mottos to justify their use. If we do not get some help - and soon - your daily mottos will stop. In order for us to continue updating these templates for you, we need your help.

When you get a chance between your normal editing, could you stop by our nominations page and leave a few comments on some of the mottos there, especially those that do not have any comments yet? This works very simply; you read a motto, decide whether or not you like it, and post your opinion just below the motto. That's it - no experience required, just an idea of what you personally like and what you feel reflects Wikipedia and its community. If you do have past experience with the project, then please close some of the older nominations once they've got a decent consensus going. There are directions on the nominations page on how to do this.

If you have any questions, please let me know, or post on the project's talk page. I'm looking forward to reading your comments on the suggested mottos, and any additional suggestions you'd like to make. Until then, happy editing! Hersfold (t/a/c) 02:55, 4 September 2008 (UTC)

Nice to "meet" you

Bringing the discussion here for the moment. I agree, Shockey was the best of the options (I compare him to Cano at times), but I don't think they were necessarily a better team with him playing since I don't think he was giving his all. Hi, you're getting paid an obscene amount of money. Why is it that you need to be pushed to do your job? TravellingCari 18:30, 5 September 2008 (UTC)

Oh, I'm totally with you on that bro. I think getting rid of Shockey was a good move. What always got me was his insistence to practice in Miami, but then he'd spout off that he didn't enough passes his way. But my gripe with the current TE situation is Giants fans claiming Boss will be or is better then Shockey. It's sour grapes talking. As much as I already like "The Boss" and his anti-Shockey demeanor, a healthy Shockey was an all-world TE. Speaking of, when was the last time Shockey ever played a full season? --Endlessdan and his problem 18:58, 5 September 2008 (UTC)
And hey, have you ever been to BBI? Check out the Corner Forum.
I'll check out the forum, thanks for the link. Love the look on Tuck's face. "Would you *like* me to destroy that camera?" :) 100% agreed on all counts re: Shockey, and I hope he's happier now. A happy and healthy Shockey is an asset to any team. Same with Cano, I just don't think NY is the best location for either of them. I think the key to Giants success -- and always has been -- is calmness. Sanity. That's what they had when they won in '91. Giants have been my team since then. My 5th grade teacher had taught Phil Simms and he brought him in to talk to us. Will never forget it and or root for any other team. TravellingCari 19:26, 5 September 2008 (UTC)
You met Phil Simms??? Lucky bastard. I had a crossing guard in 3rd grade who knew LT. Of course, what officer in Jersey didn't know LT personally? lol
So let's put our balls train tracks, shall we? What do you think the Giants record will be? I got em at 11 - 5. Losses at Seattle (I never under-estimate a team playing for its coach), Shittsburgh, split with the Cowgirls, split with E-Girls and... the final L coming to some purple colored nancys. --Endlessdan and his problem 20:25, 5 September 2008 (UTC)
Sorry, missed this. Yep met Phil Simms, but at 10 I don't think I understood the magnitude. Also met LT, OJ Anderson, Ed McCaffrey and others at a later charity event at school. I'm a bit more optimistic. I'm thinking 12-4, but I reserve the right to revise that based on next week's game--Colts and Vikings will fight harder to lose. If the Vikings go 0-2, I think they'll have given up by then. Precious little is going to come close to last season's last regular season game. That said, I think if they had beaten the Pats that game, they'd have fizzled out sooner in the playoffs. TravellingCari 19:16, 9 September 2008 (UTC)
Purple colored nancies??? Vikes will be 8-8. They'll beat the good teams, and lose to the bad, all season. 8-8 just might make January though, the central looks really bad ATM, Rodger's dodgers included. (they didn't play that well, they had 80,000 people willing them to win, and they will crash and burn now that sportscenter will lose interest in the FARV comparison crap). Best news outta week one though, btw.... Keeper ǀ 76 19:21, 9 September 2008 (UTC)
And you met LT!? Damn. I hate sounding this confident about our boys... it has never lead to anything good. I've only recently started living down my prediction of Super Bowl success in 2003. But it's been fairly quiet around the water cooler since February. And yes, purple colored nancys. You didn't think I meant these losers, didya? The good news is even better news for my fantasy football team. Now I can bench stupid Carson Palmer.--Endlessdan and his problem 19:55, 9 September 2008 (UTC)

Outdent. Yep, a number of the Giants played in a charity basketball game against staff at my high school so I went. Had a good time, was pleasantly surprised by how nice all of them were. I think I have some photos, will have to look when I next go home. I feel bad that Brady is hurt but a) it's a nice change for someone else and b) it will show the depth of the Pats. I heard Phil's offspring got a tryout, but haven't seen the results. TravellingCari 20:27, 9 September 2008 (UTC)

Damn. The only charity my school got was when the state installed new metal detectors. And from what I read, it doesn't look like Phil's kid or Timmmay will be getting a tryout. They visited Foxboro yesterday, but were prompty shown the door. Rumor now is Keeper's boy is gonna get a once over. --Endlessdan and his problem 20:38, 9 September 2008 (UTC)
At least yours has substance, mine would be speedy-able if not for A7 specifically excluding schools. Nyack had good connections in its alum and staff, but I think Simms' former teacher was my favorite. :( re: Chris and Tim - either could have been interesting, don't know much about Daunte. Only thing I'm worried about? Our defense. Not that they won't play well, they will, but a defense that's short Osi and Strahan worries me. I'm just keeping my fingers crossed. TravellingCari 20:59, 9 September 2008 (UTC)
I really am not to worried about our D. We have a lot of potential on defense - especially at defensive end. The only position on defense that worries me is LB. While I like (not love) AP, the two starters are unconvincing. But my big worry would have to be Eli. We live and die with Elisha. It kills me how frequently he still makes terrible throws and poor decisions. I can't tell you how many times a game I cringe when I see one of his passes just wobbling in the air.--Endlessdan and his problem 12:31, 10 September 2008 (UTC)
Eli-wise, I think we're fine if he keeps his head in the game. That was the difference last season, he was able to focus and be on his game and avoid the drama of playing in New York. This is what two other starters (wrong sport, but it holds true) will never be able to do. Pierce on the field is wonderful, Pierce running his mouth is a bit too Shockey-esque for my liking. Kiwi is great, I'm just hoping he truly is not hurt from that hit. Oh and LMAO at your first edit. Too funny. I think there are ~50 of him on Facebook. Frightening when people think it's really him. Week 2

Nice showing today. Glad they didn't let the Rams psyche them out and came out and played their best. It was a bit too close for comfort early but then in answering the Rams' TD they just didn't stop. I think their offensive line has a few dings that I'd like to patch -- Eli came down a few too many times for my liking - but overall I liked what I saw. Nice to see Eli spreading the wealth -- he can throw to Amani or Plax and will let Jacobs just bulldoze if needed. I think that's key to success -- knowing who's open and trusting - not relying on one known entity. While the Rams aren't the best opponent to see the team strength, I think it's good to steamroll when you can. Work out kinks. "We can beat who we need to." Oh and not that you strike me as the type to read Men's Vogue (I didn't know it existed before today), Eli is the Sept cover. Interesting article although it further perpetuates Abby stereotypes. Have a good night! PS: Keeper, since you're probably reading this -- got your boys on CBS today. See what happens when you piss off Big Bro? He comes back with a vengeance.TravellingCari 02:09, 15 September 2008 (UTC)

Yesterday's game was very good. The defense looks like it hasn't lost a step, Boss picked up the blitz very well this week and Hixon looked fantastic. After years of having a shitty/boring offense, its pretty cool for the Giants to finally have so many weapons. Now, this said, we're beating up on the Rams. Not exactly top flight competition. A 6-0 to start the season seems very do-able, but I hate getting ahead of myself. The Giants have broken my heart too many times to fall for that. But I am very pleased at the moment. I did see Eli on the cover of Esquire. As much as I love that man, he looks like a tool when he tries to look serious. How about those Vikes though? P-U! --Endlessdan and his problem 18:14, 15 September 2008 (UTC)
I hate football. Last game of the season, I'll be cheering for the giants. Keeper ǀ 76 18:30, 15 September 2008 (UTC)
Well said re: the Rams, but I think beating the ones you should, rather than allowing yourself to be beat is the sign of a strong team. It's part of what I think will be the Rays' undoing in the post-season. By all accounts, they should have steam-rolled the Yankees, but no. We pull 4/6 in the last two series. There is no logic. Should be another good one against the Bengals -- tune up where they couldn't in the pre-season. Their lack of success in the pre-season didn't bother me, but I like that they're gelling now before they face the stronger opponents. Eli does look like a tool when spiffy and in those moronic Toyota chest bump/you traded me commercials. Keeper, I'll hold you to that :) I was laughing at the CBS announcers who kept trying to say "Hubert H. Humphery Metrodome" and failing -- but never just settling and saying Metrodome. TravellingCari 19:14, 15 September 2008 (UTC)
I think Minny will rebound. They just need to their heads out of their ass and into some booty. Or maybe he can get into Minnesota's ass since he is no longer wanted. But seriously, Jackson sucks. He needs to go. And if Minnesota does rebound, it's gonna be a tough road to the playoffs. The NFC doesn't look as easy as it has in years past.--Endlessdan and his problem 20:30, 15 September 2008 (UTC)
Hear hear! Us Minnesota fans are generally nice folks. We boo the Packers, we boo bad ref calls, but we do not, under any circumstances, boo our own players. The fact that T-jack was booed off the field everytime Kluwe came out to kick yet another punt, or R-Long came out to kick yet another fieldgoal, is rather telling. T-jack need to go. The Colts handed us that game on a platter, and we said "no thanks, you can have the W". Keeper ǀ 76 20:33, 15 September 2008 (UTC)
Yeah Rams fans were pretty nasty turning on their own team. At least most Yankee fans only boo A-Rod and others who deserve it. Rams couldn't catch a break yesterday. Was reading yesterday and one passage was "typically taciturn Minnesotans." Not exactly the word I'd have chosen. I'm surprised the Bengals are 0-2 to start, same with the Dolphins. There is some talent there. It's going to be an interesting season. TravellingCari 21:12, 15 September 2008 (UTC)
After the frustration I've felt post-pre-season, and now after 2 games that the vikes should have won, all I can say is....Go Giants!. I hate New York everything (as a good, wholesome Midwesterner should), but I don't care. Go Giants. If it makes TC and ED happy, then I'm happy. :-) Keeper ǀ 76 21:17, 15 September 2008 (UTC)
:) I was surprised at yesterday's outcome on your end. I thought the Colts were down. But last year taught us that 0-2 meant nothing. Should be an interesting season. On another note I'll get one more evening in the Bronx this Thursday. Hopefully that won't be the night they're eliminated because that would break my heart. TravellingCari 21:28, 15 September 2008 (UTC)
I really hate to say this, but I must anyway (and for the love, block me if you must). I hate the yankees. HProbably because they offed the twins the last couple of times the twins actually made the playoffs. I don't care who wins what or where. I hate the yankees. They buy their teams, and even then, they can't win. I hate the bo-sox equally, if that's any consolation. Go Twins, Go Tampa, go bluejays, go anyone-other-than-the-yankees. That said, you (both of you!) need to find someone to cheer for. Cheer for the Twins! The Angels have made it in, the rays/sox will likely make it in. The wildcard is coming out of the east, which means the sox need to go down in flames so that I don't kill myself in October wondering which of the Twins losses to the Mariners/royals actually did us in. Please cheer the Twins!!!! (and as payment6 for your loyalty, now that your baseball team sucks, I'll cheer the Giants. Promise! Keeper ǀ 76 21:33, 15 September 2008 (UTC)

Sorry dude, in the post season I'm for the Dodgers all the way because of a certain manager. What you should do is root for the Yankees this week -- we've got four against the Pale Hose. So you want the Yankees to win, right? What team doesn't buy their teams these days? You need to put the Mets in that list too, remember the worst team money could buy? At least the Yankees this season were respectable and in most other divisions would have been in 1/2, not 4th. the AL East sucks. TravellingCari 21:54, 15 September 2008 (UTC)

If the yanks play the pales, I'm of course rooting for the yanks, in a similar vein as rooting for the royals when they play the pales. How bout that you two, I'm comparing the value of the Yanks to the Royals, as being equal? Does that pinch a bit? heh. Keeper ǀ 76 22:07, 15 September 2008 (UTC)
From a Yankee fan, I'll take it. :) Yankees up 2-0 and Girardi finally benched Cano's ass. About damned time. TravellingCari 23:35, 15 September 2008 (UTC)

The NFCE is our division to lose. I wasn't impressed with either team's defense last night. Dallas had a bad pass rush, shitty secondary and undisciplined defense. The Eagles D was just all around bad. Top corner group in the NFL?? Cha-right. I wish we were facing Dallas next week as opposed to so late in the season (November is our first meeting). It's all about ball control with them. Keep their offense off the field and don't give up the homerun. They're gonna score points, but just don't give em a chance to get any momentum. --Endlessdan and his problem 13:25, 16 September 2008 (UTC)

Oh and Cari, I can't root for the Dodgers. First, cause they're an LA team. But mainly I don't want to hear the talking heads tell me how the Yankees brass was wrong for firing Torre...when they were not. Now don't get me wrong, I like Joe, but I just didn't think this team was winning another championship with him. --Endlessdan and his problem 13:43, 16 September 2008 (UTC)

I didn't watch the game last night, Yankees win over teams I'm not that interested in. I'll watch football for the sake of football at times, but not when there's a Yankee game on. That said, I agree with your assessment. I just don't want to agree too hard and have it go to their heads and find a way to lose c.f. Colts last week vs. the Bears. I think that they'd have been in better shape with Torre this year because he'd have made better calls sooner. Girardi has no experience and that's part of what's killing us. That and the inability to hit the ball. Torre was the best thing we'd had -- veteran leadership. Unless they get Willie, we're SOL again next year. TravellingCari 19:47, 16 September 2008 (UTC)

So what's the story with Plax

I've heard umpteen rumors but the only confirmation is "breaking team rules"? 2 weeks of practice to teach Eli to throw to someone else. Amani hopefully TravellingCari 00:40, 25 September 2008 (UTC)

This isn't the first time Lax-ico has no called/no showed for practice from what I read and have overheard. I completely support the Giants in this decision. But what really disturbs me is this... I'm sorta surprised this hasn't hit ESPN or any of the big sports websites. --Endlessdan and his problem 12:43, 25 September 2008 (UTC)
Totally support the Giants, it's disrespectful no matter who you are. That is a scary story. TravellingCari 21:00, 25 September 2008 (UTC)
