Kevin B. Pol Olivares (born March 10, 1990), better known by his stage name Elsinrostro, is a Chilean indie videogames developer, conceptual artist, short films animator and social activist for the rights of Aspergers.

Early life

edit

Elsinrostro was born Kevin Pol in Antofagasta, Chile. Kevin's first school was Liceo Experimental Artístico de Antofagasta (Antofagasta's Experimental Artistic Lyceum), place that; according to himself in a few interviews[1]; inspired him to try several artistry doctrines during his life. In 1999 he and his family moved to Iquique, Chile, where he transferred to Iquique English College, graduating as Mid-Level Manager at the age of 17.

During his stance in the IEC, Kevin attended to Paulino Astudillo Olivares's art atelier, reaffirming his artist vocation.

Career

edit

"Every color, every sound, every stimulus your brain can perceive is a rich source of potentially unforgettable emotional experiences, my goal is to mix those sensorial feedbacks as if it was an unlimited palette of colors in a canvas, to entertain not only yourself, but your brain, your very soul." [2]

2000s

edit

It was around 2006 when Kevin's pseudonym started to frequently appear among some national Internet Forums, where he usually published some of his drawings, paintings and self-made softwares, also publishing some casual videogame projects using the KoM Games Studio Label.[3]

During the summer of 2007 he published a topic in chilewarez forums, a popular chilean community at the time, where he launched his first official mmo game: Mini TLoDK. The game stated to be a simple online rpg used to promote KoM Studios' upcoming big project: The Legend of Dragon Knights, a 3d MMO that never saw the light.

Mini TLoDK servers stayed online until May 7, 2009. A month later Kevin suddenly stopped updating his blog and social media accounts, leaving only his private Facebook account active.

2010s

edit

After practically disappearing "from the face of the earth" for almost a decade, Kevin reappeared active in his old social media accounts in 2016.

The real reasons for his long absence remain uncertain, although his sudden high interest in defending asperger organizations in his social networks may be related to it, since one of the first statements he made to the public was about his own late diagnosis of the syndrome.

A few weeks after reappearing in internet as Elsinrostro, he published a short film: Different Love in the audience awards platform. Kevin has been presenting this film in several events in Chile in order to raise awareness of Aspergers' Rights by his slogan "No hay nada de malo en ser diferente" (There is nothing wrong with being different).

"No matter what makes you different, do not let anyone convince your love isn't worth. Never let anyone make you feel guilty for being different, no matter what. LIFE IS TOO SHORT, do not worry about what others think about your differences, enjoy your life, your time here is unique, precious, a marvelous experience... Just go on, smile, laugh, cry... live" [4]

During 2017 KoM Entertainment Studios seems to be active again, although Kevin hasn't announced any major news about their projects yet.[5]
