Dean Hale (full name, Robert Dean Hale) was born on March 3, 1966 in Miami, Florida and is a Realtor who has lived in Tampa, Florida for the past 17 years.


He attended the University of Florida and the University of Tampa. He graduated from the University of Tampa with a degree in Political Science (Member of Pi Sigma Alpha / National Political Science Honor Society).


Hale married his high school sweetheart, Mercedes Gonzalez Hale (A Tampa Attorney) in 1984. Hale lived in Gainesville, Florida while he and his wife attended the University of Florida. He spent many years substitute teaching and coaching baseball and other sports at Oak Hall High School in Gainesville, Florida to help support his wife’s efforts in attending law school. While in Gainesville, Hale was reportedly the youngest Head Coach of a high school varsity sport in Florida history.


After moving to the Tampa Bay area in 1992, he was an assistant baseball coach at Hillsborough Community College for one year until he became a Program Director for the Interbay YMCA. He is currently a Realtor with the Von Greiff Group at Keller Williams Realty New Tampa.


In his spare time, Hale is an avid family man, sportsman, and has done some acting & modeling at the local level.


On October 1, 2009, Hale filed papers and declared himself a candidate for Tampa City Council – District 7. The election is in early March, 2011.
