Otto Werner (* August 11, 1884 in Hanover; † April 12, 1955 in Ilten) was a German entrepreneur.

Life edit

In 1932, Werner and his nephew took over the Elsbach & Frank fashion house in Hanover, which had been owned by Jewish who were persecuted by the Nazis. He succeeded in restructuring the company, which now traded under the name Bekleidungshaus Otto Werner. Werner remained managing director until he retired due to illness in 1950. His nephew Sauerwald, who took over the management, succeeded in expanding the company to two clothing stores and three fashion stores with a total of 350 employees by the time he left in 1985. The company was closed in 2001.
