In the book, Ibarra shares her experiences and stories of sexual assault on the United States - Mexico border. Ibarra challenges women to view any sexual assault at the border as pleasurable in order to reverse the dominant and submissive roles that have been placed on the border patrol officers and the Latina women. By finding pleasure in the experience, women can show dominance over the male border patrol officer.
