History edit

The American University in Switzerland began in 1963 as the American College of Switzerland (ACS). In 1991, four teaching staff of the ACS created the American Graduate School of Business (AGSB), one of the leading international business schools in the country today. AGSB was initially situated at the Hotel Excelsior in Montreux in 1991 but moved to La Tour-de-Peilz to accommodate a larger number of students. In 2019, the school's name was changed from AGSB to the American University in Switzerland - ASU.[9] In the same year, it became a member of the Chamber of Commerce Switzerland (SEC).[10]

In 2021, ASU partnered up with Tiffin University, allowing students to earn dual degrees.[11]

As of 2022, the school's official logo has been changed four times. The school has three official clubs, Eagles, Sharks, and Tigers.[12]

In 2022, the QS World University Rankings rated AUS with 4 Stars.[13][14]
