WP:AN archive searcher not updated edit

Currently, there is a lot of material in the WP:AN archives which the Wikipedia AN searcher doesn't seem to know about. Can you please update the database? Od Mishehu 12:53, 8 July 2007 (UTC)

sure I'll look into the problem. Someone may have changed how AN is archived >.<, particurally the bot code. —— Eagle101Need help? 20:24, 14 July 2007 (UTC)

Page about Mary Manin Morrissey edit

I wanted it to be known that the statements made about me on the discussion about Mary Manin Morrissey are entirely untrue and slanderous. I have never had any restraining orders against me and I have never stalked anyone in my life. These lies are being perpetrated against me for retaliation for speaking out against the corruption I witnessed firsthand at Living Enrichment Center. [1][2] It is a rule on Wikipedia that if statements of a slanderous nature are made about a living person then they must be removed. I have therefore removed these untrue statements about me. -- Andrew Parodi 10:32, 9 July 2007 (UTC)

Can you link me to where this is occuring, thank you. —— Eagle101Need help? 20:24, 14 July 2007 (UTC)

SPAM MISTAKE edit

Dear Sir or Madam,

we think that you have blacklisted our Domain a...com here on wikipedia on request of a user called Tabercil. We may ask you to remove our domain a...com from blacklist filter.

Reason: None of our employees ever contributed anything to wikipedia. A few months ago we instructed several Online-Marketing & SEO-Companies to promote our site online. It might be the case that one of those companies pursued this unacceptable spamming to wikipedia.

Although we have setup an account "a..." on wikipedia we simply can not figure out how to input/edit articles and/or editing any filters or similiar stuff which is why we ask you to remove our domain from your blacklist filter.

Thank you very much.

M.J. P. Managing Director

a... LLC

Taking this on face value, assuming good faith, is there any distinction between the company doing this and their subcontractor doing it? I don't think so. If they were dumb enough to engage "several" SEO companies dumb enough to spam us why on earth should we believe they won't do it again (or a different SEO company won't next time)? --BozMo talk 07:48, 12 July 2007 (UTC)

Hi edit

Can you assist me in creating a bot? I already looked at the bot page. ZapBoy (contribs) (sign here) 20:46, 13 July 2007 (UTC)

What do you want the bot to do? —— Eagle101Need help? 20:25, 14 July 2007 (UTC)

Ok, I'll look tonight. I've been busy elsewhere :S. —— Eagle101Need help? 22:48, 14 July 2007 (UTC)
Much appreciated! ;)--Hu12 22:58, 14 July 2007 (UTC)
Ok, I took care of that one, I'll look at the others later. I'm very tired from a week long campout. —— Eagle101Need help? 23:37, 14 July 2007 (UTC)

Python edit

Hi Eagle. Would you be able to write a program for me in pywikipedia? I need a bot that takes a .txt file and uploads it the same page in the bot's user space. However the bot saves everything to the text file (called output.txt). Since I don't want everything to be kept on the page, do you think you could add something that would remove the edits/logs to the page older then "period of time"? If it would be easier, you could program it in C++ . Thanks! ~ Wikihermit 03:14, 15 July 2007 (UTC)

Well... I know a little python, but I don't care much to program in it as some of the language constraints drive me crazy. So if you want a bot please tell me your operating system. Thanks. —— Eagle101Need help? 04:25, 15 July 2007 (UTC)
Vista. ~ Wikihermit 21:16, 15 July 2007 (UTC)
Then I can't help you, as I can't program a windows compatable C++ program, as I use linux. I don't even have a vista box (and I doubt I'll ever get one). Sorry. —— Eagle101Need help? 21:36, 15 July 2007 (UTC)
Alright, thanks! ~ Wikihermit 22:28, 15 July 2007 (UTC)

Hello edit

I was looking at your bot and was wondering if you could help me make one. I wasn't sure what kind. But maybe a bot that cleans the sandbox faster than Uncle G's or something? All I want really is to make one and to go from there. Do you mind responding on my talk page? Thanks! SLSB 13:11, 17 July 2007 (UTC)

If you wonder why I changed the person who wrote this from Flubber5 to SLSB is because Flubber5 completed a WP:CHU to now be SLSB. Thanks SLSB 14:16, 17 July 2007 (UTC)

VandalProof problems... edit

Hello Eagle. I'm having some problems with VandalProof, and Daniel referred me to you. VP is not letting me log in even when I'm logged in in IE; it will accept my login and then do nothing when I click on "Verify Authorization", or just not accept my username at all. Thanks, I'd appreciate your help. Cheers, Neranei T/C 01:14, 19 July 2007 (UTC)

I am having the same problem as well. RJaguar3 | u | t 14:02, 25 July 2007 (UTC)

Request for deleted material edit

You deleted Back to Basics (nightclub) last year. I'd like to take a look at the deleted text to see if something can be done to make it appropriate encyclopedic material. __meco 07:14, 24 July 2007 (UTC)

Fair use vios edit

I finished the first batch of fair use images in other namespaces. I also noticed when I was fixing the fair use vios, I discovered some where released under the GFDL, you may want to check on that. — Moe ε 23:31, 26 July 2007 (UTC)

283 citation tags edit

Even if the entire IRC is recruited to "safeguard" 300 citation tags, it won't change the basic fact that Wikipedia was intended for reading rather than for referencing and that 300 citation tags distract the readers and make going through the page next to impossible. --Ghirla-трёп- 18:28, 27 July 2007 (UTC)

Please do not assume IRC equal bad. Secondly I have no objection to the removal of some of the tags. —— Eagle101Need help? 18:33, 27 July 2007 (UTC)
