In general, WikiGnomes quietly do cleanup work around the site. As listed in the above link, some WikiGnome tasks include correcting typos, creating redirects, and fixing broken links. WikiGnome tasks that both of us have done include fighting vandalism and patrolling Special:NewPages. Other types of WikiGnome tasks that I've performed in the past include adding categories to uncategorized articles (view a list here) and removing mentions of or links to charts listed at WP:BADCHARTS from articles. I've been doing a lot of "WikiGnoming"-type activities recently and I find it quite enjoyable. Huggle is a great pastime AND a stress-reliever... just blasting away vandalism like it never existed... feels good. Throughout my adventures through Wikipedia, I have added many pages to my watchlist, and I do regularly look over changes made to those pages to be sure they aren't vandalism and adhere to WP:V and WP:NPOV. And I fix any little errors I come across in my travels, as well. I recently added a {{unblock}} template to a blocked user's talk page, as the user wanted to request an unblock but didn't seem to know how to use the template correctly. (The request was denied, and rightfully so, but still). Vicenarian (T · C) 20:40, 6 July 2009 (UTC)
