History

(Early 2005's) Formation of the Band

edit

The members of A4 were already friends be the band started. They have been going to the same school, well, atleast Danny Spektor and Tek were. They made tryouts to find a drummer that can perform at the battle of the bands at their school. The name of their band at that point was Painless Road. Mike Ledger, was one of the people trying out. He convinced them to let him play in the battle of the bands. The day of the battle, the smalltown band performed and won the battle. After the battle, the band went out for a toast, while toasting, Danny and Tek asked him to join the band permanently. And apparently he did. The band have changed names a number of times, cycling through names such as CyberTooth, Painless Road, Spektor, and finally, A4.

In late 2005, six months after the battle, "Painless Road" won an award in a local tournament and from that point on, everything changed. Shortly after this win the band decided to take a break from colledge and take on a living as professional musicians. They then changed their name to A4 in early '06 and started playing concerts in local clubs, night clubs, arenas, stadiums, sport events, and slowly started touring but are still struggling with being unsigned. After touring and doing concerts, the band returned back home to East Brunswick and started recording a home demo, in case they get a record deal managed. The demo was announced to contain 11 songs featuring Danny Spektor on lead vocals, guitar, and piano. Tek on bass and horns. Mike Ledger on percussion/drums. Synth on keyboard and piano. And Tommy Galroteo on horns and bass. Danny revealed in an interview that the first song off the album, will be called "The Way In Life", and is said to be an acoustic version of their song, "Inviso Blind". The lyrics will also be different. The song is estimated to be around 3-4:30 minutes long and should be finished recording in late August.
