I attended my first Wikipedia training session at the University of Edinburgh (16 August 2019), run by Ewan McAndrew.

Dr Kirsty Ross (drkirstyross) edit

My name is Dr Kirsty Ross and I live and work in Scotland. I am a microbiologist by training.[1] I used to work as a public engagement professional for the University of Strathclyde and the University of Edinburgh. I work full time at the University of St Andrews as the Industrial Liaison for the School of Computer Science. My interests include science communication, quilting (as and when I have time!), crochet and baking. I am particularly fond of snickerdoodles. Feel free to drop by and leave me a message. I also use a trainer account (Kirsty the padawan).

If anyone is interested, Abd Alsattar Ardati, Sara Thomas, and I founded the IDEA Network at the University of St Andrews on 1st April 2021. The Inclusion, Diversity, Equity & Accessibility in Open Knowledge Network aims to make Wikipedia a more inclusive place by building capacity and filling in some of the gaps.

You can find us on Twitter[2] and Facebook.[3]

Conflict of Interest edit

I am an employee at the University of St Andrews. I will not make any edits that would not beneficial to the goals of Wikipedia.

I also have a vanilla account that I use for training purposes (Kirsty the padawan).
