Nadiya Parfan (b. April 19, 1986, Ivano-Frankivsk) is a film producer, film director, cultural critic, social activist, co-founder of the International Film and Urbanism Festival "86" in Slavutych,[1][2] the online cinema Takflix and the documentary film distribution company 86PROKAT[3]. She is a member of the Ukrainian Film Academy.

editNadiia Parfan was born on April 19, 1986 in Ivano-Frankivsk.
Education
editShe studied cultural studies at the National University of Kyiv-Mohyla Academy (2007 - bachelor's degree,[4] 2009 - master's degree)[5] and social anthropology at the Central European University.
In 2014-2015, she studied documentary filmmaking at the Andrzej Wajda School.
Career
editLine producer of the documentary Marry a Foreigner by Jonathan Narducci (2014).[6] She is a producer of the MyStreetFilmsUkraine project,[7] the films On The East (2015, directed by Petro Armyanovsky), Acute Pain (2017, directed by Valeriy Puzik), and I Love You (2017, directed by Anna Nasadyuk).
In 2012-2013, she was a Fulbright Scholar in the United States.
She is the author of articles and scientific publications in the magazines Korydor, Spilne,[8] Political Criticism, and Ukraine Modern.
She is a former activist of the Feminist Opposition.
In 2018, Nadiia, together with producer Ilya Gladshtein, founded the production company Phalanstery Films, which provides a full range of local production services for international documentary and television projects - development, production, and post-production.
In July 2019, the Odesa International Film Festival premiered her first feature-length documentary, Ivano-Frankivskteplocomunenergo Sings, which tells the story of the choir of employees of this institution. The world premiere of the film took place at the Visions Du Reel festival in Switzerland, which is one of the largest documentary forums in the world.
On December 31, 2019, Nadiia Parfan launched the online video-on-demand platform Takflix, where you can legally watch Ukrainian films.[9]
In 2023, her short film I Didn't Want to Make a Movie About War was published on the New Yorker website.[10] The same year, her first feature, This Date, a short film about the love of two Ukrainian women in Kyiv during a full-scale war, won the Berlinale award[11] in February and was published on Takflix and the British platform Nowness in March.[12]
