I am a cytogenetics technologist by profession (1986- 2017), with a strong amateur interest in open source software, Linux, music, popular culture, and history. Been a minor Wikipedia editor for many years.

I tend to edit only when it seems obvious, helpful, and clear. I'm not well-versed in all editing rules (no interest in studying that detail), and usually confine myself to simple edits. I steer clear of controversial topics (which typically don't excite me)- with very rare exceptions (see Bud_Dwyer talk)- doh! I'm glad a humane profile pic was added. Sad that smart editors battle those simple humane requests. Eventually, someone smarter than me got Bud's picture replaced. Thank you
