My name is Don and I'm probably the senior citizen of the class at 57. I'm the CEO of a software company in Indianapolis and everyone to whom I disclose that I'm enrolled in a master's program in biotechnology thinks I'm nuts. You see, after college I went through a combined degree program back in the 80's and earned an MD and a master's in computer science. I started a software company and kept going down that road. However, I'm fascinated by the incredible things happening in the life sciences and saw this program at John's Hopkins as a great way to deepen my knowledge. I have to travel a lot for work but will do my best to keep up. I'm the father of 8 children between 15 and 28.
Interests and hobbies edit
- Rock climbing I enjoy sport (lead) and trad climbing. My favorite places are Red Rocks (Las Vegas), Red River Gorge (Ky), New River Gorge (WV)
- Scuba diving
- Mountaineering
- Aviation I'm an instrument-rated pilot and fly a six-seat turboprop TBM 850.
