User:DodoBot/AppleImportance

Below I will outline my suggestions, feel free to agree with none of it, or just certain parts. Your input in any of the smaller discussions for each tagging proposal, and in the global discussion for all of the proposal. What should be done in case of an intersection between two categories of different importance can be decided, but I suggest using the highest importance. One other thing that I would like to discuss is what the bot should do if it finds in one of the categories a page that hasn't been tagged for our project yet, I would suggest tagging it, since all the categories are relevant to Apple Inc. (with the exception of course, of the categories used to identify cross-platform software, which I will not tag for our project). Unless otherwise specified I will not include subcategories.

It may be a good idea to separate the ones that run only on Mac OS, and assign them a different importance. The possible cross-platform ones should probably also be checked by a human, since some may be out of the project's scope. - EdoDodo talk 18:27, 29 June 2010 (UTC)

Cross-platform Software (Low) edit

Categories edit

  • Any category containing "Windows" in its name

Discussion edit

A lot of these articles will also not be relevant to Apple Inc., so I will also generate a list for these to be checked by a human. - EdoDodo talk 18:27, 29 June 2010 (UTC)

Cross-platform Software (Low) edit

Discussion edit

These all seem to be companies separate from Apple Inc., so I think they should all be low importance, even though some are more notable than others. - EdoDodo talk 18:27, 29 June 2010 (UTC)

Apple Hardware (Mid) edit

Perhaps the printers could even be tagged as low-importance, since they don't seem highly relevant. - EdoDodo talk 18:27, 29 June 2010 (UTC)

Apple Services (Mid) edit

Discussion edit

I'm not exactly sure how the design award winners fall under services, but it's a subcategory. Either way, they seem fairly appropriate for mid-importance, being highly-notable Apple-award winning software. - EdoDodo talk 18:27, 29 June 2010 (UTC)

Apple Operating Systems (High) edit

Categories edit

Discussion edit

Some are more notable than others, but they are nonetheless all highly relevant to a project on Apple Inc., so I think they all deserve high importance. - EdoDodo talk 18:27, 29 June 2010 (UTC)

Global Discussion edit

Please discuss everything that is not relevant to just one of the proposals here. - EdoDodo talk 18:27, 29 June 2010 (UTC)
