Dr. Fred Fariborz Farshad (01 March 1946) is an Iranian-American Educator. He was a Chevron-Texaco Endowed Research Professor in the Dept. of Petroleum and Chemical Engineering at the University of Louisiana at Lafayette. Dr. Professor Farshad was the recipient of the university’s 1999 Outstanding Faculty Award for teaching and has over 40 years of experience in teaching, research, publications, and consulting in petrochemical industry, onshore and offshore. His area of expertise include: Production Engineering, Reservoir Engineering, Natural Gas Engineering, Corrosion Engineering, Simulation and Modeling, Thermodynamics, Transport Phenomena with specialty in Internal Pipeline Corrosion, Production Modeling and Simulation.
Previously, Dr. Farshad worked for Cities Service Oil Co. and Core Laboratories. He holds a PhD degree in petroleum engineering from the University of Oklahoma. He is a member of the Russian Academy of Natural Science, Society of Petroleum Engineers, National Association of Corrosion Engineers, National Association of Gas Engineers, Minerals, Metals and Materials Society, Pi Epsilon Tau (Petroleum Engineering honor society), Tau Beta Pi (Engineering Honor Society), and Sigma Tau (Engineering Honor Society). He has served on numerous SPE technical committees. Farshad has authored more than 75 technical papers and has lectured and conducted short courses worldwide. He holds 2 US patent. [2] [3]
