Weehawken, New Jersey is located at the southern end of the Hudson Palisades on the west bank of the Hudson River. Over the years several outdoor staircases have been built between neighbourhoods atop the cliffs and the those along the Hudson River. While some are still in use others have fallen into disrepair or have been abandoned.

The Gregory Ave Steps were re-done in 1937 when the tunnel was being built. Originally the steps went straight up to Gregory from Park Ave, then they knocked them down to make the sideways steps along the retaining wall.[1]

West Hoboken Steps
edit.[3] Amid a redevelopment boom in the early 1960s, The Troy Towers, a 22-story twin tower luxury apartment complex, was built in 1965 on Mountain Road at 19th Street, at the former site of the Abbey Inn, where a motorized wagon vehicle elevator and a staircase called the Lossburg Steps, connected to Hackensack Plank Road in the Shades section of Weehawken below.[4]

Renner Steps

Built in the early 1900s, Renner Steps, or Valley Steps, ran between Kings Bluff and Boulevard East to the Valley Park (now site of Lincoln Tunnel entrance) built in the early 1900s by the Renner and Henry Developing Company.

Renner Steps, or Valley steps ran from the first turn on Kingswoods Rd down to Blvd East to the Valley Park. built in the early 1900s. Steps are long gone... the Renner steps were south of the old Hess station, going from Blvd East to Kingswood Rd.
