Baseball is one of the sports apart of Illinois State University Athletics. The team plays their home games at Duffy Bass Field. Illinois State University's baseball team consists of 34 players in total. Four of those players are seniors, eighteen are juniors, three are sophomores, and nine are freshman. Seventeen players of the team are returning and the other half are new recruits. In the 2015 season, Bo Durkac will be the head coach. This is his first season working as the head coach, but Durkac has worked with the team for five years. In the upcoming season, there is a whole new coaching staff. The team started their workouts August 25, 2014 in preparation for the spring 2015 season

Coaches

The head coach of the team is Bo Durkac. Bo Durkac has been coaching for twelve years. He has worked with the Redbirds for five and has been the associate head coach for the last two season. The 2015 season will be his first season as head coach. Bo Durkac als chose the new coaching staff for the 2015 season

Mike Stalowy is the current assistant coach and recruiting coordinator for the 2015 season. This is his first season as assistant coach and recruiting coordinator, but he's previously coached at Bellarmine University and Valparaiso University. Stalowy was a former member of the Illinois State redbird baseball team during the 2006-09 seasons. In 2010, He became the student assistant coach.

Micheal Kellar is the current assistant and pitching coach for the redbird baseball team. This will be his first year as assistant and pitching at ISU, but he's previously served as assistant coach at Siena for three seasons

Titles/Championships

In 1969, the ISU baseball team were National Champions. In 2000 and 2013, the baseball team earned the Missouri valley conference title for the regular season and in 1994 and 2010 they earned the title for the tournament.

Stats

Last season, the baseball team had a record of 33-21. Despite their record for the 2014 season, 6 players from the team were selected in the MLB draft. Retired Jerseys

13 the player was Duffy Bass. The jersey was retired in 1994.
12 the player was Dace Bergman. The jersey was retired in 1994.
9 the player was Lee "Buzz" Capra. The jersey was retired in 2003.
