edit to Sydney photo montage edit

Hello there Please stop changing the photo montage without consensus. See WP:BRD. Please discuss on Talk page. Also please note that you are replacing a photo of the opera house with another photo which is almost identical to a photo already in the montage.

Thank you Aemilius Adolphin (talk) 22:27, 5 April 2024 (UTC)

hello Aemilius Adolphin, I am replacing the image on the Sydney page as the previous one only shows the Sydney Opera House and Sydney Harbour Bridge, and is an artistic landscape. The one I am replacing it with is a full wide photo of the actual proper Sydney Harbour including the harbour, boats, the city in the background, and the operat house and bridge, and is a much better visual depiction of Sydney Harbour rather than an artistic landscape of just two elements, i.e. only the Opera House and Bridge. I took the photo I am replacing it with, I deliberately took the photo to capture all of Sydney Harbour properly. This is the reason I am replacing it. Please stop undoing my edits. I am fully aware of why I am making this edit. And I am doing it to improve the page. Thank you for your feedback, but I have applied my edit again. My edit improves the page and offers a copyright free open license image I own and am giving to Wikipedia for free without license. If you compare the two photos you will immediately see why I am making this edit. Thank you. Have a great day. Dez blanchfield (talk) 01:57, 6 April 2024 (UTC)
The problem is that two editors have objected to your edit. The photo you have included is almost identical to the top photo. Secondly the opera house is iconic and deserves a photo by itself. Please stop trying to force your preferred changes through over the objections of other editors. Please read the relevant policy which I have already referred you to. WP:CONSENSUS. Why don't you just replace the bottom photo with yours? I wouldn't object to that. Aemilius Adolphin (talk) 02:25, 6 April 2024 (UTC)
hi again, I'm not trying to "force" anything, but I have just as much right as you or any other Wiki editor to apply edits or updates I think are sensible and reasonable. Why are you trying to "force" me to not update and improve on the page? what is your agenda here? is the image being replaced yours, is that why you keep putting it back? I do not understand your issue, I am working on improving the Wiki page for my home city, I live here, I know exactly "what" the Sydney harbour looks like, and it does not look PURPLE or "flat" and it includes LOT more than just a bridge and opera house. the image I am replacing the previous one with IS 100% a good representation of ALL of Sydney harbour - why do you want a fake "landscape" photo that is purple in colour, with a "long exposure" flattening the water, and nothing but the opera house and bridge? I think you have some sort of motive here as there is no reason to have a purple unrealistic artistic photoshopped image of just a bridge and opera house on this page - it needs a bona fide honest unedited photo of the actual FULL harbour, with wavy water, as it's an ocean harbour, with the city, buildings, the ferry's and all the key icons and things that make up Sydney harbour. please respect my time and effort and that I am donating a proper honest real image of a photo of Sydney harbour, not some fake photoshopped PURPLE thing, Sydney harbour is NOT coloured "purple", our water is NOT purple ;-) thank you.. I appreciate you stopping this weird attack on my efforts to improve the Wiki page for my home city, a place I know intimately and a place I know what it "looks like", and it does NOT look purple ;-) thanks.. April 2024 edit

Your recent editing history at Sydney shows that you are currently engaged in an edit war; that means that you are repeatedly changing content back to how you think it should be, when you have seen that other editors disagree. To resolve the content dispute, please do not revert or change the edits of others when you are reverted. Instead of reverting, please use the talk page to work toward making a version that represents consensus among editors. The best practice at this stage is to discuss, not edit-war; read about how this is done. If discussions reach an impasse, you can then post a request for help at a relevant noticeboard or seek dispute resolution. In some cases, you may wish to request temporary page protection.

Being involved in an edit war can result in you being blocked from editing—especially if you violate the three-revert rule, which states that an editor must not perform more than three reverts on a single page within a 24-hour period. Undoing another editor's work—whether in whole or in part, whether involving the same or different material each time—counts as a revert. Also keep in mind that while violating the three-revert rule often leads to a block, you can still be blocked for edit warring—even if you do not violate the three-revert rule—should your behavior indicate that you intend to continue reverting repeatedly. —C.Fred (talk) 02:51, 6 April 2024 (UTC)

noted.. I'm merely trying to improve the page and for some reason Aemillus seems to have an "agenda" to keep a fake purple photoshopped image that does not represent Sydney in any way, it's "fake art" and doesn't look anything like what the real "view" of Sydney or Sydney harbour is.. I'm merely trying to improve the page for the city I actually live in with a real image / photo I took and donated for free to wikipedia's image library, this one:

I've added this note in the talk page now.. Dez blanchfield (talk) 03:07, 6 April 2024 (UTC)
