Cobbler's Children Syndrome is a reference to a phenomenon where shoemakers's children are often the worst shod. This phrase comes from the story of a cobbler who was so pre-occupied in making shoes for his customers that he fails to notice that his own children's footgear needs. This phrase is often used to describe a situation where a person is so consumed with helping others, that they neglect their own needs or responsibilities.
