Casper Wilhelm Peter Eklund (born 11 March 2004) is a Swedish footballer who plays as a centre-back or central midfielder for Hammarby IF in Allsvenskan.
Early life
editBorn and raised in Växjö, Eklund started to play youth football with local club Sandsbro IK. In 2018, at age 14, he moved to Östers IF.[1]
Club career
editÖsters IF
editOn 27 August 2021, Eklund signed his first professional contract with Öster and was promoted to their senior squad.[1] In total, he made four appearances for the club in Superettan, Sweden's second tier, in 2021 and 2022.[2][3]
Hammarby IF
editOn 10 August 2022, Eklund transferred to Hammarby IF in Allsvenskan for an undisclosed fee, signing a four year-contract.[4] In 2022, he made 13 league appearances for their affiliated club Hammarby TFF in Ettan, the domestic third tier, helping the side to finish 6th in the table.[5]
