German sports badge!

Hi!
Thanks a million for the ribbon. I am myself a judge of the sports badges, and is in general a medal-nerd..

I have been thinking about something. The German Sports Badge page starts like this:Italic text The German Sports Badge (German: Deutsches Sportabzeichen) is a decoration of the German Olympic Sports Federation DOSB, of the Federal Republic of Germany. It exists in a civilian and military version.

What is the difference between the military and civilian version? As far as I know the DOSB badge only exists in one kind (That may either be worn as a ribbon, badge or medal)..
The military German Armed Forces Badge for Military Proficiency isn't the same, but it's true that the DOSB-badge is a part of the military proficiency badge...

I think the line It exists in a civilian and military version. should be removed.. What do you think?

Thanks for your offer about more info.. Maybe some day I will write and ask. I am a firefighter and have a medal-fetish, so I can wear some stuff on the uniform. I also have my own website about danish medals. I am working on getting some european para-wings, most likely starting with the one from Holland/Netherlands..

I am actually a member of the European Paratroopers website you like to. And the their rival: http://www.europeanparatroopers.org/badges_fr.htm

Unfortunately we have VERY strict rules about what medals and badges we may wear. In general if the badge isn't handed out by the minister/king/president of a foreign nation, we may not wear it (For example the DOSB-badge is official german and we may wear it). I have though about getting the Rescue Swimming badge, but unfortunately I am better at sinking then swimming ;-)

Anyone can participate in the dutch para-training and get the dutch parawing (it is a civilian version of the military one, but is still approved on most uniforms). Organizer of trips to holland The training centre in holland Skibden (talk) 09:17, 9 October 2010 (UTC)
