Hey. Thanks for your message. Unfortunately I don't know if there is a way to notify readers about that, without also creating a self-reference. Why not go ahead and actually check the page out for yourself? Maybe after some positive criticism, I'll consider to stop adding the link. Just a thought. (link removed)

Anyway, I went over the list of bands that you like. I share similar interests. Sonata Arctica in particular.

Sorry, I'm just bored to an inconceivable extent.

Oh, one last thing. I'm actually a solo-artist. I'm not in a band.

Hey. I don't pass negative or positive criticism on it. If you want to create the article yourself, go for it; but it has to pass notability, as per WP:MUSIC, and it has to be an actual article, not just a short blurb with a link to myspace; that would still count as link spam, as per WP:SPAM.

The reason for this is so worthwhile articles are actually made. If an unknown band is allowed a page with a link to their site or such, then why not any other band? Before you know, there's a tonne of pages revolving around garage bands. In my experience on Wikipedia, band pages are notorious for attracting benefactors and detractors, both plaguing articles with unwanted points of view.

So if you wish to make an article for it, go for it, as long as it passes notability and isn't just an advertisement. You can look to Thunderstone if you need a reference to start up a worthwhile stub. --Dayn 09:02, 17 January 2007 (UTC)

British vs. American grammar

Don't want to start an edit war or anything, but I don't know if Wikipedia prefers one or the other. In the past, people have mentioned that since Wikipedia is mainly based in the US, American spelling/grammar is preferred (though this isn't the best reason, if any). I glanced at the first sentence of a few pages from Category:English_musical_groups, and it seems that it's about half plural, half singular. Unfortunately, I can't search Wikipedia's project/help pages for anything on this. — SheeEttin {T/C} 17:26, 11 February 2007 (UTC)

That would be because they were most likely written by American editors, and others didn't want to upset the status quo just to change it. The manual of style says to use the dialect of English that the article is based around. I.e. George Bush, use American spelling; Tony Blair, use British spelling. And after that, to just stick to something to keep it uniform; like jewellery which is written predominantly in British spelling. So that's about it. Rock music Wikiproject invitation

Hello WikiProject Metal member.
WikiProject Metal music is important in expanding encyclopedic coverage of the metal. It brings attention to the lesser-known bands, and significantly improves the quality of the famous ones. Five Featured articles and two formers is proof of that.
This is the stuff I wish to achieve with the somewhat recently resurrected WikiProject Rock music. I hope to also attract attention to rock music articles of all sorts, and hopefully change some to GA or FA status. I invite you to come join us, and embrace the links between metal and rock music in general.
