Animal Cruelty edit

Animal cruelty synonyms are animal abuse and animal neglect.[1]

Forms edit

Two categories fall down from animal cruelty: active and passive. The passive cruelty can be exemplified in cases of neglect, cruelty is being demonstrated as a lack of action rather than the action itself. Oftentimes passive animal cruelty is accidental, born of ignorance. When investigator analyze a case of neglections and believes that this type of case occurred du to ignorance, the investigator may attempt to educate the pet owner, then revisit the situation. The active cruelty is the one were we see the action itself of an active abuse to an animal.[1]

Most common victims edit

The animals whose suffer most from abuse are dogs, cats, horses and livestock. There are many undercover investigations that revealed animal abuse in factory farms industry, unfortunately it has been demonstrated that many abuse comes from there. Only the most cruelty cases are reported due to a weak protection afforded to livestock under state cruelty laws , and few are ever prosecuted.[2]

Animals need protection from cold/hot weather, rain and many element while outdoors to guarantee their welfare, well-being and avoid to get them sick.[3]

Starvation edit

Starvation is caused by a few elements not only by lack of food, but also by improper food, untreated disease and parasites (like worms).[3]

What we could do about it? edit

Organizations like Human Society, are taking action to end animal cruelty, we can all participate and be active in this fight. We can all contribute with the ending of puppy mills,going-fur free, helping captive wild animals, protecting marine wildfire and ending animal cruelty and neglect. We must have present that dogs are not the only ones suffering from animal fighting rings, roosters and hogs suffer from this too. We have a great animal kingdom in this earth and we must preserve it. [4]
