The Foundation for Advancements in Science and Education (FASE) is a Scientology organization founded in 1981 to research and promote the work of L. Ron Hubbard. FASE has particularly publicized and funded research into the Purification Rundown (also known as the Hubbard Method), a controversial detoxification program without scientific basis.[1][2][3]

editDuring the 1980s and 1990s, FASE partnered with PBS to produce educational videos, many featuring teachers Jaime Escalante and Kay Toliver. FASE employees denied that the videos were intended to promote Scientology, but others criticized the use of public funding and FASE's lack of transparency regarding its connections to Scientology.[2]
