The BOA Athlete of the Year is an award presented by the British Olympic Association (BOA) to British sportsmen and women in sports that are part of the Olympic program (Summer and Winter), who the BOA have adjudged to haven been the best of the year in their sporting field. The awards were launched in 2005 to celebrate the centenary year of the British Olympic Association.[1]
